Tiger Products - Page 3
They were glad
to help Tiger fine-tune the turning of the shaft. As so much
research and development had already gone into the X-Shaft, the
final touches went quick. “They’re hitting like dynamite,” Ned
Morris says. “The players are really enjoying them.” Attesting
to that quality is the fact that his daughter, WPBA
up-and-coming star Melissa Morris, now competes with the
X-Shaft. Other players shooting with Tiger products include
Stefano Pelinga, Shawn Putnam, Kim Shaw, Tony Crosby, Danny
Harriman, Mike Massey, Mike Davis, “Hillbilly” Charles Bryant,
and the Ashton twins.
“I always thought it
was funny that UPA Touring Pro, Tony ‘The Sniper’ Crosby also uses
Sniper Laminated Cue Tips by Tiger,” Harper says. Though the tip was
not named for him, Harper adds with a smile, “…he can say so if he
desires.”
Today, the X-Shafts are
produced from start to finish at Tiger’s facility in Burbank,
California. “They’ve built themselves a nice lathe with a taper bar and
a drying booth,” Morris says. “It took a little time, but he was
persistent and it’s paying off.”
A voting member of the
Billiards Congress of America (BCA), Tiger also belongs to the American
Cuemakers Association (ACA) and Valley National Eight-Ball League
Association (VNJEA). “Tiger Products takes pride in giving back,”
Harper adds, “with contributions to support many of the amateur,
semi-pro and pro tours.” The UPA Pro Tour, WPBA, Patriot Cup, Florida
Pro Tour, Viking Tour, BCA Junior Nationals, and BCA All-American Tour
are just a small sampling of the many organizations and events that have
benefited from the company.
